Airfoil Satellite for Android turns your Android device into an audio receiver and remote control. Send any audio from your Mac to your device using Airfoil and Airfoil Satellite. Plug in headphones to your Android device or dock it in a speaker, then send audio to it wirelessly from anywhere in the house. If AirPlay isn't working for you, make sure: All devices are on the same WiFi network. All devices' software is up-to-date. If you don't know, check with your devices' manufacturer for how to check and update the version software. If you’re still having trouble after those checks: Restart the Spotify app. Close any other apps you’re not using. I have the latest Apple TV with the Airfoil Satellite installed and running and Airfoil is running on a Mac with version 10.11.6. Sarah M says: April 28th, 2017 at 4:19 pm. BTW, I am not able to change the security settings of Airplay on the Apple TV to anything other than one time passcode, passcode or password. I cannot turn it off.

Spotify is a digital music streaming service, which gives access to millions of songs of any and all genres. With Spotify, you can access your music via web player or app — on your Android phone, iOS device, or computer. Generally regarded as a very stable piece of software, Spotify is not entirely fault-proof. You may occasionally run into playback issues, unresponsiveness, slowdowns, or one of the internal error codes, which you can’t decipher right away. In this article, we’ll go over some of the most common Spotify issues and how to fix them, starting from the pausing error.
But there have always been some problems with not working firmware/software, bad connections, bad nearly unusable app GUIs (I look at you PlugPlayer), complicated usability of hardware/software. All of the above solutions just sucked. Now I use Airfoil, and have my old iPhone 3G (I don't use it anymore) connected to the audio system. Do I need to make any changes within the App to have Spoitify play on the Apple TV over Airfoil? Maybe changes on the actual computer sound output? I'm stuck, please help. I've selected the spotify app on Airfoil and it does recognize my apple TV, however no sounds comes out.
“Why does my current song randomly stop playing when using Spotify?”, a significant number of users have found themselves asking the dreaded question. The issue behind the unexpected playback stopping is a peculiarity of Spotify older versions. It is caused by simultaneous use of the same account on multiple devices. This frustrating issue is known to have been patched, yet if you find yourself stuck with unexpected pausing follow these steps:
When using Airfoil and Airfoil Satellite on machines with one or more firewalls, you may need to adjust the firewall's settings. Most computers running Windows have at least two firewalls running; the built-in Windows firewall and a 3rd party firewall from a company like Symantec or McAfee.
In order for Airfoil and Airfoil Satellite to function properly, both firewalls will need to be configured to allow the applications access to other computers on your local network. To configure the built-in Windows firewall, please see the following instructions:

To configure a third party firewall, please see the firewall's documentation. Look for information on how to add a program to the exceptions list. Airfoil and Airfoil Satellite will both need to be added to that list.
If your firewall works with port numbers rather than program exceptions (check your firewall documentation to confirm this), you'll need to open TCP ports 5000 through 5005 and UDP ports 6000 through 6005.
